Gian Luigi Albano

Dr. Gian Luigi Albano currently works at the national Central Purchasing Body in Italy (Consip Spa) and is Adjunct Professor of Economics at University LUISS “G. Carli,” Rome, as well as Research Fellow at the Utrecht University Centre for Public Procurement. He obtained his Ph.D. in Economics from Université catholique de Louvain (Belgium).
He is the co-author of the book “The Law and Economics of Framework Agreements – Designing Flexible Solutions for Public Procurement” (Cambridge University Press, 2016) and serves as Associate Editor of the Journal of Public Procurement. He is an expert on public procurement for the European Commission, the Inter-American Development Bank, the OECD, and the World Bank.
In October 2024, Dr. Albano was elected Fellow of the US National Academy of Public Administration.
