From Brussels to a European Community of Practice
The presentation of the first European Report on Public Procurement Professionalisation at the European Parliament in Brussels marked an important milestone in a collective journey that is now gaining momentum across Europe.
Thanks to the engagement of professionals, institutions, academics and practitioners from 32 European countries, the initiative has generated growing interest in the creation of a permanent European network dedicated to strengthening the professionalisation of public procurement.
The response has been encouraging. Following the Brussels event, participation in the European survey increased by more than 60%, confirming the relevance of the topic and the willingness of stakeholders to contribute to a common European vision.
The Next Step: Building the EUPPM Network
On 4 June 2026 at 14:00 CET, stakeholders from across Europe are invited to participate in a new online meeting dedicated to the creation of the European Public Procurement Professionalisation Network (EUPPM Network).
This is not simply another meeting.
It is an opportunity to contribute to the design of a European platform that can connect procurement professionals, contracting authorities, policymakers, researchers, universities, professional associations and training organisations around a shared objective: improving public procurement capabilities throughout Europe.
At this stage, the Network is still taking shape. Its future structure, participation model, governance framework and priorities remain open for discussion.
Those who participate now will have the opportunity to help define its foundations.

Looking Ahead to Naples 2026
The outcomes of these discussions will contribute to the broader European dialogue that will continue during the European Conference on Public Procurement Professionalisation, scheduled to take place in Naples, Italy, from 15 to 17 October 2026.
The conference workshops and collaborative activities are currently being developed and will provide further opportunities to advance the work initiated through the Report and the EUPPM Network.
